ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 1. Sealed bids for the Renovations to the Northern Tier Career Center New Welding Booths, Towanda, Pennsylvania, will be received at Administrative Offices of the Northern Tier Career Center, Tomahawk Road, Towanda, Pa. 18848 (570-265-8111) until 1:30 P.M., prevailing time, on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Bids must be submitted o the attention of Mr. Walt Becker, Director. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the Bidder and shall be clearly marked Northern Tier Career Center - New Welding Booths. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids. Bids received after the above-referenced date and time shall be returned to the Bidder unopened. 2. Separate sealed bids will be received for the following prime contracts: Contract No. 2256-1 - General Construction Contract No. 2256-2 - Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Construction Contract No. 2256-3 - Electrical Construction 3. On or after November 1, 2009, Bidders may obtain bidding documents by submitting a written request for the same, together with a check in the non-refundable amount of Seventy five dollars ($ 75.00) dollars, payable to: Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, 401 E. A pre-bid conference will be held at the Project site at the Northern Tier Career Center, Tomahawk Road, Towanda, PA on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. All bidders are urged to attend. Contractors are required to check in at the administrative offices. 6. This project is public construction, subject to bid security, prevailing wage, payment and performance bonding, steel products procurement and bid withdrawal requirements. Corporations, limited liability companies, and other business organizations seeking to bid which are organized under the laws of a state other than Pennsylvania must secure the appropriate certificate, authorizing them to conduct business within the Commonwealth. 7. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the forms provided in the Project Manual, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, must be furnished by the successful Bidders prior to execution of the Contracts. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty (60) calendar days following the actual date of opening thereof, except as provided by the Commonwealth Procurement Code. However, if award of Contract is delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of a grant or grants, Bids may not be withdrawn by the Bidder for a period not to exceed 120 days from the date of bid opening in accordance with Pennsylvania law. Northern Tier Career Center reserves the right in its discretion to reject any or all Bids and to waive irregularities in any Bid. Further, Northern Tier Career Center reserves the right to award any combination of Alternates or no Alternates, which, in its sole discretion, serves the best interests of the Northern Tier Career Center. This project is subject to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry's Prevailing Wage Determination.
