Concrete, Brick & Stone Contractors
For thousands of years, humans have used some form of concrete, brick and stone to secure their shelter. Applications of concrete, brick and stone have come a long way as building technology has been modernized, but the basic use has remained more or less constant. Generally speaking, concrete is a material made from cement, aggregate (usually gravel and sand), water and admixtures. Its relative inexpensiveness, long-lasting strength and conformity make concrete a remarkably valuable building material. Brick can be created from a number of different materials that usually play a factor in price. Common brick is a block of ceramic material used in masonry, laid by hand and bound by mortar. Natural stone bricks, often made from granite, limestone, sandstone, marble, slate or quartzite allow for a particularly more elegant look. However, such stone brick is predominantly local to the regions where the materials are available. |
